FAQs

How often do I get toys and when am I billed?

All members get new toys every 2 months, regardless of your plan.

Monthly - you are billed monthly for your subscription.

Prepay - you are billed every 4, 6 or 12 months for your subscription.

How do exchanges work?

We offer free shipping and exchanges every 2 months to maximize your child’s learning and reduce our shipping impact. You will receive an email when your exchange is due detailing the toys you will receive. You have 3 days to make a modification to your exchange by either modifying the toy selection or delaying your exchange. Keep your current kit of toys until the new one arrives ensuring no downtime between toys. 

Can I buy the toys?

If you are a monthly subscriber and fall in love with a toy, you can purchase it when you exchange for 15% off the retail price. Unfortunately, we don’t sell our toys outside of our subscriptions.

Is there a trial or can I cancel anytime?

We know renting toys is a new concept. That’s why there are no hidden contracts and you can cancel at any time without penalty in your subscription account.

What if I want toys for multiple children?

First off, congrats! We offer 5, 8 or 10 toy membership options. Select the one that best suits your family.

When you checkout you have the option to give us the ages of multiple children and let us know any toy preferences. We will select a mix for each of your children.

How do you clean the toys?

We safety-inspect, clean and reseal every returned toy.

To clean we use Force of Nature & Seventh Generation.

Force of Nature is an EPA-registered disinfectant & sanitizer that kills 99.9% of germs*, even Staph, MRSA, Norovirus, Influenza A, Salmonella, and Listeria when used as directed. It’s on EPA’s list of Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.” It is made without the use of toxic chemicals, added fragrance, dyes, preservatives or surfactants.

Seventh Generation an EPA certified Safer Choice Partner. Every ingredient in their disinfectants and cleansers must meet strict safety criteria for both human health and the environment, including carcinogenicity, reproductive/developmental toxicity, toxicity to aquatic life, and persistence in the environment. Their products are USDA certified biobased, fragrance free, contain no VOC's and are registered to kill over 99.99% of household germs botanically on hard, nonporous surfaces.

Any fabric items we carry are either laundered using Seventh Generation products, and/or may be spot cleaned using vinegar based disinfectants, before steam cleaning at 265 degrees and dried by an electric air duster.


When necessary, we reseal using pure beeswax.

Once dry, toys are carefully repackaged and shipped where they spend between 3 - 5 days in transit.

What if I lose a piece of a toy?

We do not charge for missing pieces or light damage. We just ask that if you find the missing piece, you send it back in your next exchange!

I'm expecting / have a newborn! What plan do you suggest?

Congrats! Whether your due date is nearing, or your child is between 0-3mo, we recommend our Newborn Play Essentials. You'll keep your first set for 6 months, then roll into our regular membership.
